My name is Ildiko, I am a Montessori teacher and i run Alma Montessori Childcare which is an Ofsted registered childminding setting in my spacious 4 bedroom house.
Alma Montessori Childcare offers a child-centered approach in a “home from home” environment for children aged 6 months to 5 years. The setting offers the flexibility of a childminders in a caring, safe, educational and family environment with the experiences and learning of a nursery.
Parents are kept informed about the day their child has spent in our care through daily dairies, learning journals and active communication. In comparison to a nursery we can care for a smaller number of children at one time, and due to this I will be able to provide plenty of individual attention and I can encourage the child to form healthy emotional attachments.
Children are cared for in mixed age groups and It’s a great opportunity for them to be around older or younger children. We have a schedule of activities that we attend every day of the week, mostly toddler groups, but also local parks, farms, museums and other children’s activities where the children will receive the stimulation and learning opportunities that they would in a nursery.
We are inspected on a regular basis to ensure we provide excellent care.
Our setting is Montessori inspired and we follow Montessori’s principles and philosophy of education. We have put strong emphasis on providing a great home learning environment promoting the philosophies of Steiner/Waldorf, Montessori and Forest schools. I am passionate about taking learning outdoors. All our educational materials and activities are easily accessible to children. They are displayed on low shelves for independent use, as well as free choice of activities – both indoors and outdoors.
In our safe and secure garden children can easily access a range of toys to support their development whilst having fun. We spend as much time as possible outdoors, going on nature walks, climbing trees, digging holes and jumping in puddles. Children are encouraged to explore and discover, promoting curiosity and interest for learning.
I am loving, playful and genuine person who’s passion is to provide quality childcare and support parents with any needs they may have with their child’s development. I offer an environment that enables your child to express and develop through play while learning is taking place.
I have a good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stages and the developmental needs of under fives. The activity sessions and the carefully selected material we use are directly address these developmental stages.
We believe in giving children the freedom to move and the ability to make their own decisions. This way they learn through the senses and the body. And because they are having fun, they can’t stop learning!
I am proud of my positive attitude towards the children. It is especially important to make sure the children have fun and enjoy their day at Alma Montessori! We are warm a friendly – there is nothing that a child would want more but comfort, love and feeling safe within our setting.
